Sunrise

I am lucky to have some amazing views over the city of London from my flat and I have been wanting to photograph the sunrise for a little while but didn’t fancy getting up at 4am to do it until I arrived home from a night out in the early hours of Sunday morning and despite being a little drunk decided to give it a go!  After waiting for a few hours the sun finally rose at 4.45am and I was very pleased when Canary Wharf became the focal point for it.  I was happy with the results but I think a slightly clearer sky would make it a lot better. I will try again next Sunday morning!

Sex party in Mayfair

Last week I was asked by Zoo magazine to photograph two of their reporters as they attended a sex party at a posh Mayfair apartment. It was crucial I wasn’t spotted, as I didn’t want to ruin the story for the undercover journalists. I met up with them about twenty minutes before hand and set up some pictures of them walking towards me, I then ran ahead to my car which was parked outside the front door.  The entrance to the apartment was extremely dark and only lit up by one streetlight. To make things harder for me there was a light lighting up my car and two bouncers on the door looking towards me so I was extremely worried that I would be spotted.  I had earlier asked the reporters to stop at the door just to give me enough time to focus my lens on them. Luckily as the couple approached the door security were distracted by them as I happily snapped away. Zoo used the pictures in this weeks issue.

I met up with Page 3 Girls Becky and Peta at the Wellington Barracks at 7am on Saturday morning before the troops changed into uniform and paraded in front of the Queen for the Trooping the Colour. The girls went on an early morning jog with the troops before posing for photographs with them.

The Queens guards were all stood perfectly in line and looked incredibly smart until the Page 3 girls walked out on to the parade square to many “get your tits out” chants! Very funny!

Bob Crow…Tube Strikes

RMT leader Bob Crow

RMT leader Bob Crow is blocked on his way to work by the Sun bus

The first time I met Bob Crow was on Wednesday when I was sent to the RMT offices to try and front him up with a reporter. After spending two hours to do the five-mile journey from South London to central London I was very angry that this man could cause so much carnage in London. He didn’t wish to chat to The Sun so when he came out to do a television interview I took advantage and photographed him in the street.  He became angry and said, “why are you taking my photograph?” I said, “Why do you think I’m taking your photograph?” What did he expect after demanding a Tube strike.  What an idiot!

After 48 hours of tube strike madness I was delighted when the office told me about Friday’s assignment. The brief was to take the Sun bus to his Essex home and delay Bob Crow on his way to work.  Bring it on!
I met up with one other Sun photographer, a Sun video man, two reporters and two bus drivers in a lay-by near his home at 5am. We were hoping that he would drive to work and that we could successfully block him into the small street, which he lives in. He only had one route out and there was a car on the drive so it was all looking good. One reporter sat in his car by his home, another sat at the end of the street and the rest of us waited patiently on the bus.  At 7.20 he set off on his journey to work but on foot. Not ideal but we leapt off the bus and blocked him off at the end of his street. His face was a picture…

We then pursued him for about ten minutes as he walked down the street towards the tube station. He refused to answer any questions from Sun reporter Alex West about how it felt to be delayed on his way to work.  When he finally arrived at Woodford tube station he became angry and called the Police.  40 Minutes later the police arrived and told Bob to get on his way.  We made him 40 minutes late…
